The River Aire around Beale and West Haddlesey provides us with a varied challenge. If the river is carrying any extra water and colour, feeder caught bream and skimmers will provide visiting anglers with a big weight match. If however, the river is low and clear, roach, hybrids, and perch on rod and pole will give us the leading weights.

Depths here vary from six to twenty feet. The Aire has also given us some monster eels recently.
